Toronto duo Zeds Dead have been running the bass game for nearly a decade and have used their platform to help bring others up along the way. One upstart, in particular, is 17-year-old newcomer and Deadbeats rookie DNMO.
Zeds Dead teamed up with DNMO for fiery new collaboration, “We Could Be Kings,” premiering on Billboard Dance today (Sept. 6). The track mixes Zeds Dead’s gritty low end with DNMO’s shiny pop lean, while singer Tzar delivers a drop-dead gorgeous vocal hook. After debuting the track at the annual “Dead Rocks” concert at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver this summer, Zeds Dead and DNMO are officially dropping this beautiful bass bomb on dance fans.
when i was 11 years old I used to blast the @zedsdead eyes on fire remix and it inspired me to start producing. 6 years down the line I’m about to release a song with them at the end of this week, couldn’t be more stoked on life right now pic.twitter.com/FRENFF8HMh

“DNMO is one of the first artists we started working with when we launched Deadbeats,” Zeds Dead tells Billboard. “He had a lot of cool ideas about this track that we had been working on for a while. When we all hit the studio, everything came together really naturally. We’ve had a lot of fun playing shows with DNMO over the last few months, and ending our sets with this track always goes off!”
DNMO is equally excited about the track, delcaring that ‘We Could Be Kings’ is one of his favorite songs he has ever been part of. “It feels great that almost a year later the track is finally coming out,” the up-and-comer says. “Working with Zeds Dead has been super inspiring and a tremendous learning experience. They were one of the first electronic artists I ever listened to as a kid, and to be here now is truly amazing.”
“We Could Be Kings” is out this Friday (Sept. 7) on Deadbeats, but you can take an exclusive first listen below.
