Superstar DJ Zedd turned in his CDJs for poker chips at the PokerStars Championship in Barcelona after performing a 90-minute set at the tournament’s welcome party on August 21. While he didn’t end up catching luck at the main event, he redeemed himself in a side event that led to a third place finish, leaving him with over $50,000 in prize money.
The winning spree continued Sunday night (Aug. 27) when he and Alessia Cara were awarded best dance video for their hit single “Stay” at MTV’s Video Music Awards.

@Zedd 3rd place in the 2k @PokerStars event tonight – not a bad first day at the tournament. Congratulations.

If Zedd, who has produced many of Lady Gaga‘s songs on Artpop, had produced “Poker Face,” this story would be too good to be true. Nonetheless, we’re happy for Zedd.
