Zedd announced Monday that he will no longer be performing at Opera, a nightclub in Atlanta. The announcement formally canceled his scheduled performance at the venue for Feb. 1. He did not give a specific reason, but it was reported earlier in the day by the Atlanta Police Department that a woman was raped on the venue’s dance floor, an act which was caught on camera.
The victim published various videos to Facebook live stream throughout her evening. One video showed a man asking if she was alone, followed by a graphic clip where that same man is seen raping the woman in the public. The footage has since been removed and turned over to the Atlanta PD.
Opera is now under investigation by the Atlanta Police Department. Opera’s management posted to Facebook Monday morning that it is cooperating with the APD, “have provided them everything they have requested” and “will continue to aid and support their investigation in any way we can.” They also asked that any further questions be directed to APD’s Public Affairs Unit.
That evening, Zedd tweeted the following:
I’m sorry I will no longer be performing at Opera Atlanta on February 1st. I’m looking forward to coming back to Atlanta ASAP.
