Just weeks after exiting One Direction, Zayn Malik has officially stepped back on the scene — with his mom by his side.
The former One Direction singer walked the red carpet with his mom as his date at the Asian Awards in London Friday (Apr. 17). Looking happy and dapper in a suit, Malik also showed off a shorter hairdo.

It’s been several months since Malik appeared at a red carpet event. He was last spotted on one with his 1D bandmates by his side at the NRJ Music Awards in December.
His appearance at the event comes one day after his pal, producer Naughty Boy, shared a photo of him with a new nose piercing on Twitter.
