U.K. entertainment retailer Zavvi has restructured its board following an increase in sales over the Christmas period.
The chain has appointed marketing director Steve Kincaid as e-commerce director. He will focus on developing the company’s digital strategy at zavvi.co.uk, which is being rebranded this month. The company says online sales increased by more than 70% year-on-year over Christmas.
The company, which was formed from a management buy-out of Virgin Megastores in September, has also appointed trading director Mark Noonan as commercial director, incorporating responsibilities for marketing.
“Steve Kincaid has done a fantastic job in overseeing the launch of the Zavvi brand and with zavvi.co.uk a vital component in our long term multi channel strategy, Steve will devote his time to creating a compelling experience,” said Simon Douglas, Zavvi’s CEO, in a statement. “Mark Noonan will continue the work establishing Zavvi as the number one destination for entertainment product, with his product and marketing teams working closely together to deliver our customer strategy.”
As previously reported, Zavvi increased sales by 10.8% over the Christmas period compared to Virgin Megastores’ performance in 2006. However, music sales fell by 11.6%.
