Hip-hop duo the Ying Yang Twins will be the subject of an Aug. 5 Q&A session as part of the Billboard-AURN R&B/Hip-Hop Conference in their hometown of Atlanta.
D-Roc and Kaine, whose latest TVT album, “U.S.A.: United States of Atlanta,” debuted last week at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, will discuss their career and address the challenges of consolidation, structured radio airplay and file sharing with Billboard’s senior R&B/Hip-Hop editor Gail Mitchell.
“Who better to welcome the world’s leading music executives to Atlanta than Atlanta’s own party rap duo,” says Mitchell. “Their industry insight coupled with their natural stage presence, will surely make for an informative, and entertaining, discussion.”
As reported yesterday, veteran performer Chaka Khan and pioneering rap act A Tribe Called Quest will be honored with R&B and hip-hop Founders Awards, respectively, at the Billboard-AURN R&B Hip-Hop Awards, which will serve as the Aug. 3-5 conference’s finale.
