The first annual Yestival will take place Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, N.J., Billboard.biz has learned. The festival is produced by prog rock pioneers Yes, the band’s agency Artist Group International, and Live Nation Philadelphia. Performers include Yes, Renaissance with Anne Haslam, the Musical Box, and Carl Palmer of Emerson Lake & Palmer fame.
Tickets go on sale June 7.
Other attractions include famed Yes cover artist Roger Dean presenting his artwork, and second stage performances.
“As pioneers of progressive rock, it made sense for Yes to put together this festival, and where better to do it than the Philadelphia market?,” AGI’s Peter Pappalardo, who is spearheading AGI’s efforts on Yestival, tells Billboard.biz. “The city, along with promoter Live Nation, have a long, successful relationship with both the band and progressive rock in general.”
AGI, acquired by the Y Companies last year and still run by founder/president Dennis Arfa, has successfully served up similar artist-branded events, including CrueFest with client Motley Crue, and comedy packages.
