The new Yellowcard single “Lights and Sounds” will be the centerpiece of the in-game soundtrack to “Burnout Revenge,” a new title from gaming powerhouse Electronic Arts due Sept. 13. The cut will be featured on Yellowcard’s in-progress new album, due early next year.
Joining the band on the soundtrack are Bloc Party, Avenged Sevenfold, Comeback Kid, the Doors, Fall Out Boy, LCD Soundsystem, Maximo Park, Morningwood, the All-American Rejects, the Bravery, Timo Maas, We Are Scientists and 28 other acts.
Yellowcard’s as-yet-untitled new project will be the follow-up to 2004’s “Ocean Avenue,” which peaked at No. 23 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.6 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The group will take a break from the studio for a run of fall tour dates, beginning Sept. 8 in Montreal opening for Sum 41. Shows are on tap through Nov. 4 in Richmond, Va.
