Yasiin Bey, formerly Mos Def, has shared a new song titled “Dec 99th – N.A.W.,” amid legal battles and his recent announcement of retirement.

The haunting track was released on Bey’s “A Country Called Earth” SoundCloud account, which is also the name of the entertainment site he co-founded. “Dec 99th – N.A.W.” takes on eerie organ sounds that back stark melodies, as Bey cynically sings of other’s needs and wants.
This past January, Bey was detained in South Africa for violating immigration laws and has since been fighting a court case for use of a fraudulent passport. The Brooklyn rapper told his side of the ordeal on a freestyle rap and audio message that was hosted on Kanye West‘s website, while also revealing he will retire from music and Hollywood.
