Wu-Tang Latino will promote its first compilation, “Wu Latino Presenta La Familia,” with 200,000 free download cards distributed at college campuses.
The Latin urban label is partnering with digital distributor The Orchard to make the album available across digital retail April 29. The download cards, to be handed out two weeks before release, will provide two free tracks and two free ringtones at Wu Latino’s Web site and the label’s MySpace page. A physical release through Universal is planned but no date has been set.
“Wu Latino Presenta La Familia” is a mix of Latin hip-hop, reggaeton and bachata, featuring such acts as Rameses, Mangani, Boyz del Barrio (formerly Barrio Boyzz) and Nueva Era.
