This summer’s gay-themed backed out of the event just hours before the tour’s official announcement.
“We have made this decision with the greatest of reluctance,” said organizer and Pet Shop Boys member Neil Tennant in a statement. “It seems impossible to proceed without a complete line-up of artists. We look forward to coming to America next year.”
The tour — scheduled to kick off July 13 in Miami — was to feature the Pet Shop Boys, DJs Junior Vasquez and Danny Tenaglia, Rufus Wainwright, a reunited Soft Cell, and the Magnetic Fields. Those who purchased tickets can obtain refunds at the point of purchase.
