Indie label group and management/marketing firm World’s Fair has added funk/soul label Daptone Records to roster. The label home for the Dap-Kings, who have been supporting Amy Winehouse, was previously linked with Prommer.
A spokesperson for World’s Fair notes that a distributor for Daptone offerings on CD and vinyl will be secured and announced shortly. Daptone will soon release a new album from Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, as well as a sophomore effort from the Budos Band.
World’s Fair counts Definitive Jux, Rough Trade, Bella Union and Great Society among its label group. Great Society is distributed via ADA, but most World’s Fair labels utilize Caorline Distribution.
