As senior VP of sales, marketing and interactive for Big Machine Label Group, Kelly Rich has had plenty to be proud of in 2013. The label group scored four No. 1 debuts on Billboard’s Top Country Albums tally, including Tim McGraw’s “Two Lanes of Freedom,” Justin Moore’s “Off the Beaten Path,” the Band Perry’s “Pioneer” and “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope’s “Frame by Frame.” What’s more, all but Pope’s release debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Rich is also excited about Thomas Rhett’s debut release, “It Goes Like This,” which debuted with 34,000 units in its first week and has amassed 1 million downloads of its title track (according to Nielsen SoundScan), and Danielle Bradbery, another “Voice” finalist, whose self-titled album arrived Nov. 25. Of course, BMLG continues to rack up sales of its two big 2012 albums, “Red” from Taylor Swift (3.9 million units) and “Here’s to the Good Times” from Florida Georgia Line (1.4 million). A deluxe release of the latter debuted Nov. 25. On Dec. 10 the label releases the third volume of music from ABC’s “Nashville.” Rich is counting on continued success in 2014 with new releases from Brantley Gilbert and Eli Young Band, as well as some other key releases. “We have a huge year next year,” she says.
