Peter Heppner, the distinctive singer and songwriter with German electronic act Wolfsheim, has signed a long-term solo recording contract with Warner Music Germany.
In a statement, Bernd Dopp, chairman/CEO Warner Music G/S/A, describes Heppner as an “exceptional artist” who is “a perfect fit for Warner Music.”
The first album through the new deal is expected in the middle of next year. Dopp has vowed to work with artist through the company’s international affiliates.
Hamburg-based Wolfsheim’s album “Casting Shadows” (Strange Ways) reached the peak of the German albums chart in April 2003, and broke the top 10 of Billboard’s European Top 100 Albums chart. The following year, the act won the best alternative national group category at the German industry’s Echo Awards.
Heppner has also guested on vocals for hits by German dance music artists Schiller and Paul van Dyk.
