Warner Music International has augmented the executive structure of its London-based digital team in a strategic attempt to step-up its position in the digital space.
The company has recruited Sabine Anger, formerly VP media and content alliances at telecommunications giant T-Mobile, to the new role of VP, European business development. In her new role, Anger will be tasked with identifying prospective business partners and executing priority activities for WMI’s affiliates.
At the same time, Claude London will become VP, digital operations. In this post, London takes duties for overseeing the digital operations of all WMI affiliates. He joins from management consultancy firm Bain & Co., where he was a consultant specializing in the technology field.
“Next year, digital revenue is expected to grow,” comments WMI COO Gero Caccia. “Now more than ever, our digital team combines the key elements, which will enable us to stay ahead.” Both appointees report to Jay Durgan, WMI senior VP, business development and strategic partnerships.
Warner Music Group recently reported digital revenues of $44 million for the third fiscal quarter ended June 30. The figure represented 6% of total revenues, up 26% from the second quarter and 76% ahead of the first-quarter figure.
