Black Swan, an Australian wine, will next week start hosting events around the U.S. where musicians perform and display their artwork.
The wine maker will be running two events. The first, “Black Swan Wine Bar,” will pair up fashion line Brand Pimps/We are the Market, a 10.Deep release party for a mixtape by Wale and Catchdub, and a performance by indie musicians Matt and Kim starting on Monday. New York is tentatively scheduled to have events until the end of the month.
The second set of events is called “Black Swan Presents It’s Pop It’s Art.” In June “It’s Pop It’s Art”, which is based in the U.K., will go to cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Boston and Chicago. “It’s Pop It’s Art” are prints inspired by song lyrics by artists such as John Lennon, The Rolling Stones and Jay-Z.
Cornerstone in New York picked the local artists for the events.
“There’s a synergy between our brand and emerging culture,” said Diego Lo Preste, senior marketing manager, Black Swan, based in Modesto, Calif. Black Swan is made by the E&J Gallo Winery. “Many of them are mainstream in their subculture, but we’re bringing more visibility to them.”
