Former Blockbuster executive Dean Wilson is rejoining the company to help expand its video distribution channels.
Wilson has been named head of new business development. He will help to develop alternate ways of delivering video content to consumers beyond Blockbuster’s existing bricks-and-mortar and Blockbuster Online businesses.
Wilson formerly worked at Blockbuster as executive VP/chief content officer. He joined the company in 1995, later helping to found Blockbuster’s film acquisition and distribution arm DEJ Productions.
In his new role, Wilson will report to executive VP Ed Stead in Dallas.
“Dean is a tremendous resource,” Stead says in a statement. “He already knows how Blockbuster operates and can put his 20 years of experience in the industry to work to move our business development strategy forward.”
