Believe it or not, it’s been 16 years since Will Smith and Martin Lawrence teamed up for their action-packed film series, Bad Boys — but the wait for the third installment will soon be over.
Smith took to Instagram on Sunday morning (Jan. 13) to share a photo of the duo in front of a poster of the original 1995 Bad Boys, and share an update of the upcoming threequel: Bad Boys for Life.
“First Day of Shooting tomorrow! We watched @BadBoys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It’s about to be KRAZY!” Smith captioned the snap.
The third installment is slated to arrive in theaters in January 17, 2020; and this time it’ll be directed by noteworthy Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Not much has been revealed yet about the plot or cast — which, as seen in the first two films, follows the intense crime-fighting lives of Detective Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Det. Marcus Burnett (Lawrence). So far, Joe Pantoliano will reportedly return as their jumpy chief and new additions to the cast include Vanessa Hudgens and Charles Melton, among others.
