For their new video for “Dawned on Me,” the Chicago rockers partnered with King Features to be animated alongside Popeye, Olive Oyl, Bluto and the rest of the “Popeye” gang. At one point in the clip, guitarist Nils Cline sees baby Swee’Pea cuddling up to his ankle and proceeds to use the child as a glorified guitar pick. Disturbing? A little.
As for the Wilco brand of spinach that encorporated into the clip, there’s a winky website for it. With the existence of Wilco-branded popcorn and coffee, though, we wouldn’t be surprised if cans of spinach bearing Tweedy’s face were actually in the pipeline.
