Whole Food’s official Instagram page was once brimming with photos of foods and drinks from the supermarket chain, but as of Tuesday (June 19), the company has purged all of its social media posts, leaving four cryptic white squares as the only posts, along with blank Instagram Story snaps.
Even more mysteriously, the account appears to be following only four artists — Beyonce, Cardi B, Sting, and Bon Jovi — and fans have questions.
If Whole Food’s latest marketing strategy is any indication, the food giant is likely gearing up to unveil a major announcement that will explain the reason behind the move. There’s also a bee emoji in the bio section of Whole Food’s Instagram page, leading many to speculate that a bee-themed product (given that the artists’ names are associated with bees) or that perhaps a campaign featuring the artists is on the horizon.
Whole Food’s Twitter page remains intact, as their last tweet was on Father’s Day (June 17).
