The White Stripes have added a new leg of North American tour dates to their 2007 itinerary, beginning with a Sept. 4-5 stand at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. Dates are on tap through Sept. 26-27 at Seattle’s Paramount Ballroom and include eight cities in which the rock duo has never played.
As previously reported, the Stripes will in June and July play only Canadian venues, and will then begin a short U.S. run July 22 in Portland, Maine. Beforehand, the group has European shows on tap through June 15 at the O2 Wireless Fest in London.
“At the tail end of [2003’s] ‘Elephant,’ we were touring these hockey arena kind of things, and we were just like, ‘Eh, I don’t know, man. It’s a little cold and sterile,'” White recently told Billboard. “But you just take it for what you can do. Right now, we’re just trying to find the right spot for each town.”
