If you’re a millennial, there’s no way you don’t remember exactly where you were the first time you heard “I’m Sprung.” We fell in love with T-Pain as a generation, and it only got more serious as he continued to slay on “I’m N Luv (Wit a Stripper),” “Bartender,” “Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin’),” “Low” and the rest.
Honestly, any future bass or lo-fi R&B producer who tries to act like T-Pain’s catalog didn’t directly inspire their voice is a liar, but it seems most are willing to pay homage. T-Pain just tweeted an open call for future bass producers, and electronic dance music twitter is going bonkers.
