With so much attention on her personal life and marriage to Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey is shifting the focus back to her work. The singer has shared a couple of snapshots taken during her rehearsals for her “The Elusive Chanteuse Show.”
The trek is slated to kick off on October 4 in Tokyo, with dates lined up right through the end of the month throughout Asia. Additional dates have yet to be announced.
“I want to experience the spontaneity and emotion that I put into this album on stage with my fans,” Carey said in a statement. “I can’t stop writing songs so don’t be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city!” The tour is in support of her latest release, “Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse,” which dropped on May 27 and debuted at No. 3 with 58,000 units sold.
Earlier this week, Carey’s husband, “America’s Got Talent” host Cannon, reacted to rumors that their marriage is on the rocks. “I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly,” he wrote, noting that fans shouldn’t trust “sources.”
He added, “So to see false reports in the media stating otherwise is absurd! While I would like to remain silent I can no longer allow this to happen.I love @MariahCarey and that will never change!
