
Unboxing videos are a real, popular thing on the Internet, but they typically pertain to the unpacking of new tech products — not a Grammy Award.
Still, that didn’t dissuade Watch ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic from filming the opening of his golden gramophone in a new video. Known for comedically covering popular songs, here Yankovic tries putting the same twist on a viral video phenomenon.

In it, he cracks jokes at the delivery service used, noting he’d won his 2015 Best Comedy Album award for Mandatory Fun from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) nearly three months ago. “If you can help it, try not to use NARAS as a delivery service,” he says. “If you can get your Grammy off of Amazon instead, I say go for it.”
Yankovic jokes throughout: “Now you can use any sharp object to pierce the packing tape,” he says, I’m using my Running With Scissors scissors, highly recommended.”

He adds, “Be very careful not to cut off your fingers.”
Wrapping up, he reviews the packaging happily, saying, “Nice, solid box … I can use this for eBay, for storing styrofoam peanuts, for small pets.”
