After a struggle with Lady Gaga’s management to even release “Perform This Way,” Weird Al Yankovic has taken his antics to the screen — as in, the YouTube screen. Yankovic released the visual accompaniment to his Gaga parody today (June 20). Watch below.
While Yankovic calls out the Mother Monster’s over-the-top fashion choices in the lyrics of “Perform This Way,” the parody master really takes playful aim at Gaga’s look in the clip. With Yankovic’s face edited onto a woman’s body, he takes on some of Gaga’s most infamous ensembles, from her get-up made entirely of plastic bubbles to “the meat dress” and plenty of caution tape.

The video’s zanier moments find Yankovic befriending a singing porcupine and fighting with a faux Madonna over certain similarities between “Express Yourself” and “Born This Way.”
Weird Al Gets Gaga’s Approval for ‘Born This Way’ Parody
“Perform This Way” is the first single from Yankovic’s forthcoming thirteenth album “Alpocalypse.” Discussing the controversy surrounding Gaga’s supposed disapproval of “Perform This Way,” Yankovic told Billboard earlier this month that is was all just a miscommunication with her management. “Even though [Gaga’s] manager was presenting it as such, she had never once approached Gaga, so it was news to her when people were…asking, ‘How come you’re not letting Weird Al do his parody?'” Yankovic tells Billboard.com. “She was not aware of it at all, and when she actually did hear the song she loved it and gave me permission.”
