Organizers of Australia’s We Love Sounds festival trek have dumped the Perth leg from the program due to slack ticket sales.
Perth’s Supreme Court Gardens was due to host the traveling dance and electronica-oriented show on June 6. But the tour will now bypass the Western Australian capital because advanced ticket sales fell “well below any reasonable expectations,” explains national promoter Sounds and local promoter Boomtick in a joint statement.
“Together, the promoters fought hard to make the festival one of the most spectacular on the circuit. This meant unparalleled production and infrastructure costs to ensure all patrons were undercover, experiencing the very best in audio and visual quality,” explain the organizers in a statement.
“Rest assured every situation and scenario to avoid this course of action have been carefully considered. This included scaling back the production value of the event, however this simply wasn’t an option for the promoters.”
Now in its 7th year, the tour began today at the Trusts Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand before rolling on to Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Underworld, Felix Da Housecat, Laidback Luke and Tiga are among the big names on the line-up.
