Bill Bennett, the former president of Geffen and Maverick Records, has resurfaced as executive VP of Warner Bros. Nashville, Billboard.biz has learned.
Bennett is relocating from Los Angeles to Music Row. He succeeds former Warner Bros. Nashville president Jim Ed Norman, who retired in June.
Since Norman’s departure, the senior executives at Warner Bros. Nashville have been reporting to various department heads in the company’s L.A. headquarters. They will now report to Bennett.
Most recently head of Maverick from 1999 until 2001, Bennett previously helmed Geffen and was senior VP of promotion at MCA. In his new post, he reports to Warner Bros. Records chairman/CEO Tom Whalley.
