You know how parents in the ’50s were all “rock and roll is the devil’s music?” We’re afraid to know what they’d think of WAVEDASH and QUEST’s collaborative foursome. The nasty outfit takes elements of bloghouse electro and smashes those glitches between heavy American dubstep-style wubs. It’s downright evil noise for the sinner in you, and it’s just cheesy and theatrical enough to be tons of fun.
The fresh musical coven invites you to chant dark incantations with its three-track EP Devil Music. Open a portal to a demonic dimension with cinematic intro “Adagio.” Fall victim to its allure with the title track, featuring playful recitations from fknsyd, and end your tour of Hell with “Star Power,” the doomiest dub tune of all them.
Devil Music gets full release via Mat Zo‘s Mad Zoo label. He’s a big fan of what WAVEDASH and QUEST are doing, calling them both “brilliant young producers,” praising the EP as showing a “sophisticated side to them, well beyond their years.” The digital release runs alongside limited edition cassettes, more limited Devil Music hot sauces and even more limited books of hymns.
It’s all part of the cinematic presentation, which you can enjoy ahead of the Friday, June 1 release schedule, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
