The Prodigy has shared the title track for its upcoming new album, The Day Is My Enemy.
The banging new song will appear on the self-styled electronic punks’ sixth studio set, which is due March 30.
There’s been a dearth of new Prodigy material since 2009’s studio set Invaders Must Die, which topped the Official U.K. Albums Chart. Fans got a taste of things to come when the veteran British dance outfit teased “Nasty Nasty” on New Year’s Eve. Watch the new clip below.
Founding producer Liam Howlett discussed the new longplayer in an interview published last October with Q magazine. “Dance music across all types has become formula-based,” Howlett told the title. “It’s: ‘Here’s your drum fill, here’s your build.’ All that DJ bollocks and tutorials on YouTube shit. This album is totally organic. Pure violent energy.”
The Prodigy Starts Countdown Until ‘The Day Is My Enemy’ Release
The new album is the first release through Three Six Zero Music, a label launched last summer through a deal with Warner Bros. Records.
The Prodigy recently announced a string of U.K concert dates for May. But before their homecoming, they’ll warm up with the Future Music Festival which plays five Australian cities, and a single date in Singapore, through February and March.
