Katy Perry began appearing in Japanese ads for Laundrin’ brand fabric softener and room fragrance on Friday (Sept. 8).
The ads feature their most popular fragrance named “Classic Floral,” a chic, classical scent that reflects an elegant feeling, and the “Classic Fiore,” also a refined scent based on rose with a touch of lychee.
The TV commercials feature the song “Act My Age” from her new album, Witness, and show the dressed-up Perry coming home after work. The camera follows her around the stately mansion as she gradually unwinds with the help of Laundrin’ products.
Watching the way she happily buries her face in a freshly washed bathrobe and enjoys the scent in her living room is like actually taking a peek into the Witness star’s private quarters, somewhat reminiscent of her YouTube live stream promoting the album in June.
The sequences capture Perry’s personable side as she relaxes at home — flipping a pancake, no less! — and also suggest that Laundrin’ fragrances are worthy of the celebrity lifestyle of one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
“I love Laundrin’,” she says in a voiceover, and like the copy that means, “Katy Perry Smells Nice,” no doubt she probably does. Watch the ads below:
