With December here and the holidays truly underway, Cee Lo Green is the latest artist to lend his voice to the Give The Gift of Music campaign, which seeks to remind all that music makes not only a great present, but strong memories. Billboard.com exclusively premieres this video clip of “The Voice” coach waxing reminiscent over three of the most important musical gifts he got as a kid, courtesy of “my very sweet sister,” he says.
Unwrapping the actual vinyl of ABC’s “The Look of Love,” Tone Loc’s “Wild Thing,” and Lenny Kravitz’s “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” Cee Lo explains were “special moments in my life.” His sister, he says, “encouraged so much of my listening in a sisterly, nurturing way. That was her way of saying she was paying attention. Can you imagine that? For it to be unspoken… It was such a sweet special gift.”
Green has released his own holiday cheer this year in the form of the seasonal album “Cee Lo’s Magic Moment,” which features guest turns by Rod Steward, the Muppets, fellow “The Voice” coach Christina Aguilera, and more.
The Give The Gift of Music campaign, in addition to featuring artists like Green, The Band Perry, and Brandy, will also be giving prizes to fans who submit the best story of musical presents.
