Warner/Chappell Music has entered the high-margin production music segment
of the publishing business, acquiring Non-Stop Music. The company’s music has been heard recently in such trailers and movies as “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Shrek 3,” “The Simpsons” and “Transformers.”
Formed by musicians in 1981, the Salt Lake City-based Non-Stop has built a library of more than 35,000 song titles that it licenses to film, television, Internet and corporate clients. Non-Stop also operates its own recording studio and has a stable of musicians it draws upon to compose original film scores, music for film trailers, television theme songs, theme music for corporate films and commercial jingles.
Non-Stop Music co-founders Randy Thornton, Brian Hofheins and CEO Mike Dowdle will run Non-Stop as a division of Warner/Chappell Music and will report to Dave Johnson.
Non-Stop also has offices in Los Angeles, New York and London, as well as affiliate offices throughout Europe, Australia, Asia and the Near and Far East.
