Warner Music France has moved closer to the 360-degree model by acquiring tour production, promotion and booking company Jean-Claude Camus Productions.
Camus has promoted and produced shows for major French artists since 1957, including Sheila, Patrick Bruel and Johnny Hallyday, who is touring next year, as well as international acts such as the Rolling Stones, Madonna and Michael Jackson.
Warner says Camus Productions will continue to represent non-Warners acts and remain under the leadership of Jean-Claude Camus. The company will work closely with each of the labels in the Warner Music France group, building on relationships established during Warner artist Hallyday’s last tour and recent live co-productions for Christophe Mae and Emmanuel Moire.
“We want to offer our artists the skills and professionalism of Jean-Claude’s people so that we can assist them in achieving their artistic goals,” said Thierry Chassagne, president, Warner Music France, in a statement. “Jean-Claude Camus Productions will continue to enjoy a large degree of autonomy in the management of its own development.”
Jean-Claude Camus added: “When Thierry proposed this agreement, I immediately appreciated the good fit of our two businesses and that working together could further the interests of artists.”
WMF says this is the latest effort to expand and diversify the opportunities it can deliver for its artists. Last year Warner Music France 360° was created, overseeing licensing, merchandising, synchronization, video content, digital and interactive support, live, sponsorship and brand partnerships.
