Wal-Mart has inked a deal with Shout! Factory and Warner Home Video for an exclusive window to sell the soundtrack and DVD to the documentary film “NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience.” Wal-Mart will have the Shout! Factory soundtrack and the Warner Home Video DVD exclusively from Feb. 1 to March 14, 2005. The products will be made available to all other retailers on March 15.
The 14-track album includes P.O.D.’s “Boom!,” Sheryl Crow’s “Steve McQueen,” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” and LeAnn Rimes’ “I Got It Bad” and “Star Spangled Banner.” Also featured are the Allman Brothers Band’s “Firing Line” and the previously unreleased “You’ll Never Catch Me” by Smashmouth lead singer Steve Harwell.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ “NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience” was released in IMAX theatres in March and has grossed $19 million at the box office, according to Nielsen EDI. The studio will rerelease the film in IMAX theaters in January.
