Steven Vincent has been named VP of music and soundtracks for the Disney Channel, which is riding a wave of recent musical hits, including “High School Musical 2” and “Hannah Montana.” Vincent reports to Susette Hsuing, senior VP of production for Disney ABC Cable Networks Group, and is based in Burbank, Calif.
In his new role, Vincent will supervise music for original programming on both the Disney Channel and ABC Family. He’ll work with music supervisors and producers on both original and licensed music, as well as outreach with artists involved with Disney Publishing, Walt Disney Records, Hollywood Records and Radio Disney.
“This is a well-deserved promotion for Steven, who impresses us every day with his dedication and insight into storytelling through music,” says Hsuing.
A Disney veteran for over 15 years, Vincent was previously director, production and executive in charge of music for the Disney Channel. In that post he oversaw the Walt Disney Records soundtracks to “High School Musical 2,” “Jump In” and “The Cheetah Girls 2.”
