In this week’s top viral videos that had everyone buzzing, Rihanna attempts — and fails — to moonwalk, Miley Cyrus dirty dances with Adam Shankman, Phish and Green Day cover the Rolling Stones, Big Boi makes salad with Martha Stewart, “Glee” puts a twist on “The Boy Is Mine” and “Jessie’s Girl,” and more.
1) Rihanna Moonwalks, Fails
Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” samples Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” so her moonwalk was probably an attempt to doubly honor the King of Pop. Sadly, stiletto boots are not conducive to this dance move.
Bonus Dance That Never Should Have Happened: Still-a-teen pop star Miley Cyrus and veteran producer/”So You Think You Can Dance” judge Adam Shankman, grinding to their heart’s content. (Watch)
2) Phish Plays Rolling Stones’ ‘Loving Cup’ on Fallon
If you haven’t been watching “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s” tribute to the Rolling Stones this week — a celebration of the legendary band’s “Exile on Main Street” re-release — you’ve been missing out. Green Day, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, the Roots and Taj Mahal all paid tribute with Stones covers, and Thursday night saw Phish play “Loving Cup” in their first late-night performance in six years.
Bonus Stones Cover: Green Day rocks out to “Rip This Joint,” Urban plays “Tumbling Dice,” Crow and the Roots perform “All Down the Line,” and Taj Mahal and the Roots “Shine a Light.” (Watch, Watch, Watch, Watch)
3) Big Boi Talks Salad, Rap Nicknames with Martha Stewart
Outkast’s Big Boi brings his mother to “The Martha Stewart Show” and gives the daytime host and homemaker her very own rap nickname, Martha Macaroni. His solo album, “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” is out July 6.
Bonus Early-to-Rise Rapper: The always-buff LL Cool J stops by the “Today” show to share breakfast recipes from his “Platinum 360 Diet and Lifestyle” book. (Watch)
4) Stone Temple Pilots Debut ‘Between the Lines’
Stone Temple Pilots are back, and so is their color-saturated, fish-eye lens ’90s video aesthetic. The band frolics with pretty girls in the video for its No. 1 rock hit, “Between the Lines.”
Bonus Video Premiere: Diddy recruits T.I. and Rick Ross for the visuals to his new single under the Dirty Money moniker, “Hello Good Morning.” (Watch)
5) “Glee” Milks Love Triangles with “Jessie’s Girl, “The Boy Is Mine”
Finn pines extra hard for Rachel in Jessie’s absence and picks the perfect song to express his sexual frustration.
Bonus “Glee” cover: Mercedes and Santana have their own shared object of affection in Puck, and the two Cheerios nearly come to blows after singing Brandy and Monica’s classic R&B battle song. (Watch)
