Vicky Martell, who worked side-by-side with husband Tony Martell on the T.J. Martell Foundation, has passed away, a rep has confirmed to Billboard. She died on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the age of 88.
Vicky and Tony Martell were married for over 65 years. She is survived by her husband as well as their daughter, Debbie Martell.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Madison Memorial Home (159 Main Street in Madison, N.J.). Martell’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent’s Martyr Church (26 Green Village Road in Madison, N.J.).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the T.J. Martell Foundation. Donations can be sent to 260 Madison Avenue, 8th Floor – New York, N.Y. 10016, or made at tjmartell.org.
The T.J. Martell Foundation is a national non-profit that funds medical research focused on finding cures for leukemia, cancer and AIDs. Tony Martell, a former CBS Records executive and A&R director, started the foundation in memory of his son T.J., who lost his battle to leukemia in 1975.
