Dickey Zwirn, a longtime sales executive in the BMG family, passed away on July 15 in Stamford, Conn., after a 12-year battle with cancer. She was 63.
Zwirn originally started in the music industry in 1972, working at an RCA shipping facility before breaking into the company’s field sales organization. Eventually, she would rise to become the sales manager of the California branch for BMG Distribution, before moving to New York in the mid-1990’s to become the New York branch manager. She has been out of work for the last few years on disability.
