Mark Ghuneim, former senior VP of online and emerging technologies at Sony Music, has formed a New York-based music consulting firm targeting the Internet and mobile spaces.
The venture, WiredSet, aims to connect labels and artists with new technology opportunities.
“The changing music marketplace requires the use of non-traditional methods such as peer-to-peer networking, RSS syndication and other new technologies, and WiredSet can help companies maximize the potential of these technologies,” Ghuneim says in a statement.
A 25-year music industry veteran, Ghuneim helped develop online promotions for the likes of Bob Dylan, System of a Down, Jeff Buckley, Bruce Springsteen, Nas, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lauryn Hill and Destiny’s Child.
