Verizon Wireless today expanded the number of tracks available via its new VCast Music full-song download service through newly announced partnerships with CD Baby, Digital Rights Agency and the Independent Online Distributors Alliance.
Verizon would not disclose exactly how many new tracks these deals add to its library, but has stated its goal is to expand the number of tracks available from 500,000 at the service’s launch in January to over a million by the spring.
All three organizations bring a wealth of independent music to the service, joining Verizon’s launch partner The Orchard.
In addition, Verizon expanded its relationship with The Orchard beyond full-song downloads, to include independent artists master ringtones and ringback tones.
