Singer/songwriter Vanessa Carlton is about to embark on her first headlining tour, kicking off Sunday (Oct. 20) in Boston and running through mid-December. Carlton is on the road in support of her Interscope debut, “Be Not Nobody,” which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 824,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The single “A Thousand Miles” is in its fifth week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart.
As previously reported, Carlton will join such artists as Neil Young, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, and the Foo Fighters at this year’s Bridge School Benefit, set for Oct. 26-27 outside San Francisco.
Last night, Carlton, Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, and the Temptations were on hand at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre to tape the “A Motown Christmas” concert special, which will air Dec. 8 on cable network USA.
