Vance Joy’s sophomore album is near completion and will arrive early in the New Year.
With a post on his Facebook page, the Melbourne singer-songwriter revealed his next LP will be titled Nation of Two and will arrive February 2018, though its release date is still under wraps.
Nation of Two describes “a perfectly self-contained couple; their world beginning and ending at the bed they share, the car they ride in, or any other place where they’re together…The idea that their love for each other gives them their bearings; a point of reference that makes sense of life,” Vance Joy (real name James Keogh) says of his forthcoming set.
The award-winning Aussie artist also shared another song, the nostalgic ballad “Like Gold, which follows the album’s include first official single “Lay It On Me,” which recently went platinum in his homeland and is the best-selling homegrown track in Australia right now. Stream “Like Gold” below.

Nation Of Two is the followup to Joy’s breakthrough debut from September 2014, Dream Your Life Away, which hit the top of the Australian chart, cracked the top 20 in the U.S. and U.K. and has sold more than 1.7 million copies worldwide, according to his Australian label home, Liberation. Dream Your Life Away produced four hits which went platinum or multiple platinum in Australia: “Riptide” (8x platinum) “Fire and the Flood,” (3), “Georgia” (2x) and “Mess Is Mine.” The standout, “Riptide,” has appeared in the Top 100 of the ARIA Singles Chart for an astonishing 124 weeks, won Triple J’s Hottest 100 Countdown and cracked the top 10 in the U.K.
Following a busy touring schedule on both sides of the Atlantic, Vance Joy returns to Australia shortly for a handful of dates in Melbourne, Sydney and an appearance at Spilt Milk Festival in Canberra.
