After expanding this fall to the United States and Canada, the V Festival will visit Australia for the first time next spring. The event will be staged March 31 at Sydney’s Centennial Park and April 1 at the Avica Resort in the Gold Coast. Pixies and Gnarls Barkley will top-line the bills.
Also confirmed to perform are Pet Shop Boys, the Rapture, Soulwax and Groove Armada. Tickets go on sale Dec. 4.
The V Festival, a long-running summer event in the United Kingdom, branched out in September when it played Toronto and Baltimore. The fest is the brainchild of billionaire Richard Branson.
In Australia, the V Festival will come two months after the touring Big Day Out event, which will boast appearances by the Killers, Tool, Jet, Muse and My Chemical Romance.
