The video for the No. 1-debuting “Hold It Against Me” finds Britney working with director Jonas Akerlund, who directed Lady Gaga‘s epic “Telephone” and “Paparazzi” videos. Ackerlund said recently of his collaboration with Spears: “I’ve been around long enough to know when an artist gives it their all, and to me it doesn’t get better than this.”
Fans saw a taste of the “Hold It Against Me” video when Spears tweeted a picture during its shooting late last month. The photo showed the pop star sporting bangs and long, wavy locks and encircled by a cluster of microphones.
“Hold It Against Me” is the lead single off Spears’ seventh studio set, “Femme Fatale,” set for release March 29 through Spears’ longtime label, Jive. Since Britney revealed the album’s title and artwork via her Twitter account two days ago, “Femme Fatale” has been a trending topic on the social networking site.
