Modern rock act Unwritten Law will release its Lava studio debut, “Here’s to the Mourning,” in February. The 12-track set was produced by Sean Beavan and Josh Abraham and will be led by the single “Save Me,” co-written with Linda Perry (Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera). The cut goes to U.S. radio outlets on Dec. 7.
No Doubt drummer Adrian Young was behind the kit for several tracks on the new set. Unwritten Law’s drum seat has since been filled by Tony Palermo.
“Here’s to the Mourning” is the follow-up to 2002’s “Elva,” which brought Unwritten Law to new commercial heights. The set topped out at No. 69 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the No. 1 Modern Rock Tracks hit “Seein’ Red,” on its way to selling 393,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The band will kick off a North American tour Nov. 30 in Orangevale, Calif.
