Horst Unterholzner, who has served as managing director of Sony BMG Austria for more than five years, will exit the company May 1. Stefan Klimek will take the helm of the Vienna-based affiliate.
Klimek joined Sony Music in 2002 from Universal Music Germany in Berlin, where he was director finance. Since April 2007, he has served as GM at Sony BMG Music Entertainment Austria.
Unterholzner will continue to consult for Sony BMG in an A&R and new business development capacity.
“I am happy that we still have Horst in our team and will thus strengthen our engagement for national repertoire in Austria,” comments Maarten Steinkamp, president Sony BMG Continental Europe, in a statement. “With Stefan Klimek we have a very experienced top-manager to run the successful Austrian company.”
