The previously unreleased Aaliyah ballad “Miss You” is available as of today (Oct. 28) for streaming from AOL’s First Listen program. The track will be included on a collection of new and archival cuts from the late artist, “I Care 4 U,” due Dec. 10 from Blackground. A portion of proceeds from the set, the track list for which is expected to be imminently unveiled, will go to the Aaliyah Memorial Fund, which benefits the Revlon UCLA Women Cancer Research Program and Harlem’s Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Aaliyah died Aug. 25, 2001, in a plane crash in the Bahamas. Her final self-titled Blackground studio album topped The Billboard 200 and is No. 158 in its 66th week on the chart; that album’s single “I Care 4 U” is No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally this week.
AOL First Listen is also debuting “Go to the Floor” from Missy Elliott’s upcoming Elektra album “Under Construction” and “Stuck in a Cloud” from the late George Harrison’s posthumous Capitol set “Brainwashed.”
