Scott Munn has joined Universal South Artist Management in Nashville, where he will serve as the day-to-day manager for Marty Stuart and work with Marc Dottore, who heads the management company.
Prior to moving to Nashville to join Universal South, Munn spent 14 years working in Athens, Ga. He has managed the Drive-By Truckers for the past two years and was their tour manager for two years before that. He has also managed Kevn Kinney for the past five years and tour managed him and his band, Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, for eight years before that. He started his career as lighting director and assistant booking agent at Athens nightclub 40 Watt.
Universal South Records, headed by senior partners Tony Brown and Tim DuBois, launched its management division in January. Brown and DuBois brought Dottore on board to run it, and signed up initial clients Jessi Alexander, Kathy Mattea and Shooter Jennings. Munn is also part of the management team for Mattea and Jennings, as well as for newcomer Don Chambers.
