Underworld leads a star-studded lineup for the fifth annual Ultra Music Festival, set for March 22 at Miami’s Bayfront Park. The event will also sport performances from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, DJ Tiesto, and Paul Van Dyk. Other acts on the bill include Junkie XL, Goldie, Seb Fontaine, Bad Boy Bill, and Sandra Collins. A number of this year’s performers are returning from the 2002 event, including Oakenfold, Roni Size, Timo Maas, and Josh Wink.
Ultra will play host to 10 “unique music arenas,” according to organizers, who also promise “a jaw-dropping laser and light show” and a “first-class festival experience.” Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through Ultra’s official Web site. In the coming weeks, they will also be available at outlets throughout Florida and nearby states.
Underworld will be performing in support of its latest JBO/V2 album, “A Hundred Days Off,” which debuted in October at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Electronic Albums chart. The single “Two Months Off” reached the same position on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play tally.
