Acclaimed U.K. electronica outfit Underworld will celebrate its first decade’s worth of music on “Anthology 1992-2002,” due Nov. 3 internationally and Dec. 9 in North America via V2. Although it doesn’t appear on the compilation, a new edit of the “Trainspotting” soundtrack favorite “Born Slippy” will be released Oct. 27 internationally, backed by five alternate mixes. An accompanying DVD sports four videos for the track.
The 16-track, two-disc “Anthology” hits all the highlights of Underworld’s career to date, from the 1994 club hit “Cowgirl,” to the twin 1999 smashes “Jumbo” and “Push Upstairs” to last year’s jubilant “Two Months Off,” which reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
Also featured are tracks such as “Moaner,” “Rez,” “Cowgirl” and “King of Snake,” as well as the downtempo “8 Ball,” previously only available on the soundtrack to the 2000 film “The Beach.” Not included for unknown reasons are singles such as “Rowla/Juanita,” “Dinosaur Adventure 3D” and “Bruce Lee.”
Underworld’s 2002 studio album “A Hundred Days Off” debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Electronic Albums chart and No. 122 on The Billboard 200.
